The Better Half!!!

Webster says - Better Half is the "SIGNIFICANT OTHER"part of our lives. We all live half of our lives with this person and spend all seasons of life with better half.

Any Home can be CASTLE if the QUEEN & KING are in love with each other is rightly said.

This other half enters your life either because you wish, or your parents wish due to society norms. In this blog I am only going to talk about the happy part of having a Better Half and how it revolves around our life.

Till the time , this other half enters our life we are called SINGLE - Bachelor or Spinsters.
When this half enters your life because of your choice, then:

• We happily change our habits
• We are ready to adjust any moment and compromise
• We have no issues sharing our own personal space which we never imagined can be given to anyone.

But, when this half enters because your parent's wish then the case may either be above one or check below :

• We will die but will be adamant to change any habits
• We are creature who do not have compromise or adjustment in our dictionary
• Personal space - excuse me , No entry

I know, you must be thinking Really!! All set and done , after a year your wish or parent's wish -all is same.

• You start spending time together
• You start missing each other if far
• You seek advice, moral support and become best friends.

As time passes , this BETTER HALF or OTHER HALF is YOUR HALF.We were walking alone and it isn't impossible to live alone but this other half makes it different. 

If NOTHING Lasts forever, you will be MY NOTHING -My Better Half !!

HULCHUL in the Cerebrum!!!!

Sometimes , your mind seems to be processing so fast that there is utter confusion everywhere and you just want someone else to decide for you.  Words which mean that some day everything will all make perfect sense, so for now laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason even do not console you!!!

When the heart and brain do not walk hand in hand, when you hear several voices parallely coming , that is the HULCHUL in the cerebrum which is exactly what the Leobond is going through.

In every woman's life there comes a time when the balance in Family and career looses control, when you have to break all the chains that stop you from moving on , virtual chains which seem to control your mind. When you are not able to decide if you need to sacrifice something you love the most and grab the new opportunity or live with the one you have.

Being the kind of person I am, can never do things which my heart never permits, but time sometimes does not favor you..:(

Here again, I take a decision to go against my time, listen to my heart and struggle for my future. Leobond does not know what time has stored for her, but I am sure at the end of the day , one thing that will make me happy is I always listen to my heart. I was watching Bhag Milkha Bhag today and if that one Indian Blazer could bring so much will power in him, Leobond can definitely fight back this HULCHUL....

Gir ,gir kar bhi apne dil ko samjhaya ;

Tu dare nahi, tu thake nahi...

The Marital Status!!!

The Gentle breeze ...

Leobond sits at the window and looks at the sky -clear and blue in the December winters and takes a sip of ginger tea; thinks for a while and smiles to see some vermillion fall on  the notebook. Leobond today tries to share with all of you the thoughts from being Single To Married by The Marital Status!!!!.

People have different thoughts on this status ; some say Marriage is like a three-speed gearbox: affection, friendship, love while others say it is like buying something you’ve been admiring for a long time in a shop window … you may love it when you get home but it doesn’t always go with everything else in the house.

As long as we are Single, they say freedom reaches peak- night outs with friends,movies , outings ,work all remains the same but one important thing that creeps in is the sense of responsibility with the change of one Status.

The moment the status changes from Single to married, not only is the Facebook status first updated nowadays but we slowly realize that a new road starts under construction and the road is the Road of life.
The building blocks to this road are not stones and pebbles but love, warmth ,understanding and most importantly trust.

Experienced Construction Engineers say its easier in Love Marriages rather than Arranged ones.Even if it is an alliance entered into by a man who can’t sleep with the window shut, and a woman who can’t sleep with the window open , life is still beautiful and complete with the small small jerks the status keeps getting on.

At one point of time you hate the status and at the same time you cant do without it coz at the bottom of the heart you do understand that you  care!!!

I see people all around me bowing to the vows and living it up  , getting old and trying to live upto to the Status.

Single to Married is the status which is like a door which looks out upon a beautiful view. As that door is opened and the horizon unfolds before you, know that nothing is sweeter than the warmth of one hand within another.
You don't marry someone you cant live with,you marry someone you cannot live without...:)

Beyond Repair but still A Ray of Hope...

Friends, this is my first post of this leap year 2012 and its almost more than a year since the Leobond has shared thoughts with you all. Penning down my thoughts, is my hobby but somewhere down the line, blew the storm of destruction blowing away the wind of hope,wiping out trust and breaking me down.

 I look back and see destruction beyond repair, but friends getting lost along your path in life definitely defines a path to find yourself. So am I, trying to do. People say time is short and so is life, so its better to Smile and let go the past.

Till the time we learn lessons to be learn't which makes us more matured in our thoughts and thinking, we have already lost hopes to live and start accepting things that fall our way.

As life was turning its pages, so was I turning the pages of " The leader who had no Title" and was getting engrossed in message the author via the Character of Blake Davis was trying to convey. Robin Sharma, has beautifully tried to deliver his thoughts in this book wherein the main message is only one thing- "You don't need a Title to be a Leader".

As the story begins with the plot where we find the author himself in a situation where he was living a life with no hopes, no desires, shattered with his past and no dreams to live for. We all must have gone through this phase in our lives because we all are human beings with dreams.

Dreams fail, hopes break and lives takes a different stroll where we try to isolate ourselves searching for loneliness.But it is this adversity which gives rise to inculcate in us the innate feeling of giving back to the society. Every setback in itself has a seed for opportunity and so is Leading without Title.

To Lead Without a Title is to leave everything you touch better than you found it. Mediocity happens when people refuse to change and improve all that they do. We have a ton of technology yet less and less humanity. Let’s remember that people do business with people they like, trust, and respect.

The author says: The more you leave your comfort zone, the bigger your comfort zone will grow. Each day at work, do the things you know you must do but are scared to do. That’s how you grow, build your
leadership capability and access more of the leader within you. There’s zero safety in staying within what I call “The Safe Harbor of the Known”. That’s just an illusion that bankrupts too many businesses and breaks too many human beings.

If at any point of time you thing you have lost the battle, gear up again and whatever role you are into, treat yourself the leader of that role and give your best, you will see that the whole surrounding starts giving a positive vibe.

Friends, we all have our time machines. Some take us back , they are called memories. Some take us forward, they are called dreams. So lets follow our dreams...:)..:)

THE SWITCH.....Is it the Right Time For Replacement??

The Leobond explorers today the IT Buzz word:  The Switching Theory

Someone has said:"Loyalty cannot be blueprinted. It cannot be produced on an assembly line. 
In fact, it cannot be manufactured at all, for its origin is the human heart-the center of self-respect and human dignity.
It is a force which leaps into being only when conditions are exactly right for it-and it is a force very sensitive to betrayal." 

Such pillars are responsible for success stories of a company. The Leobond is herself a part of this SWITCHING THEORY. Today as I shut down my system, I thought to pen down what is going around me.

If I talk about 80's in India , the market growth was slow and people once in one job,never thought of leaving the company before retirement. But ,now 15 years down the line,the attrition rate is ten fold higher and our crib session goes on and on. The mental satisfaction has been replaced by mental retardation in the job.

The Leobond introspects and finds that if given an option to correct myself I will go back two years back and would take back my papers...Really not joking but the series which started there is now never ending. Reasons can be countless but solution is none. People have several perceptions on this SWITCH theory but Azim Premji says : Why Employess Leave Organization?

"The answer lies in one of the largest studies undertaken by the Gallup Organization. The study surveyed over a million employees and 80,000 managers and was published in a book called "First Break All The Rules". It came up with this surprising finding: 

If you're losing good people, look to their manager .... manager is the reason people stay and thrive in an organization. And he 's the reason why people leave. When people leave they take knowledge,experience and contacts with them, straight to the competition. 

"People leave managers not companies ," write the authors Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman. 

Mostly manager drives people away? 

HR experts say that of all the abuses, employees find humiliation the most intolerable. The first time, an employee may not leave,but a thought has been planted. The second time, that thought gets strengthened. The third time, he looks for another job. 

When people cannot retort openly in anger, they do so by passive aggression. By digging their heels in and slowing down. By doing only what they are told to do and no more. By omitting to give the boss crucial information.

Different managers can stress out employees in different ways - by being too controlling, too suspicious,too pushy, too critical, but they forget that workers are not fixed assets, they are free agents. When this goes on too long, an employee will quit - often over a trivial issue. 

Talented men leave. Dead wood doesn't. "

This was his perception, but the Leobond feels that loyalty is a two-way street -Loyalty Up  & Loyalty-Down,dont hurry and take decisions in haze. Its always respect for Superior and care for one's team which wins the race in the end...:)

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Man is not the creature of circumstances, circumstances are the creatures of men. We are free agents, and man is more powerful than matter. Still from age to age, nothing changes, and yet everything ..... is completely different. The Leobond shares a thought which might raise a spectrum of emotions in all of us. Today while I was walking in the lawn, I saw two old ladies, chatting about the ages they have lived and the times that they have seen and the differences that lay in the Present & Past.


Ageing, a scale which measures a HUMAN on each and every aspect one tries to live and rates the economic growth of that person on the parameters of Success and Happiness.A person in Mid 30's is head to toe engrossed in running in the rat race and soon realizes that the eligibity in participating the race no longer exists. The Leobond tries to evaluate this ageing aspect in the eyes of these two old ladies representing the Common Old Man. When a person has strength  and energy, he takes care of all the responsibilities surrounding him. As times grows fonder and fonder of this energy, the level of this energy decreases but the spirits still high. These people still think -I wish I could work like before, run and be active. Where is all my energy going? It is during this age and time our elders need us the most. The love , concern and care that we shower not only boosts their courage to be jolly as before but also a positivity in their adrenalin to live a more happy life.

People at this age think :Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

                                   Seen it all, done it all. Can't remember most of it.

Have you ever heard your Parents say that they cannot really work like they could as before and sigh!!! I don't need to remind anyone here that with time ageing can create gaps in the minds of our elders but its us , who are suppose to bridge the gap and keep this viscous circle of Ageing move on.The Leobond , requests all the readers that we all should take out some time from our busy schedule for such people who have taught us how to take the first step of our life and spend most our times with them. The human psyche at this ageing level tends to be positive only when the young ones realise that our moral support is all these people need.


Let them also say "Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along comes today & I realise my mind is still the Super Computer"

The Story of a BOY & a GAL – Larry & Ray

"When it hurts to look back and Ray is scared to look ahead; She looks beside and finds that you have always been there ...It’s you -Larry"....This story takes us back to 2001, somewhere in October when Masters in Business Administration classes began for Ray. As usual, like all children in hostel, Ray was homesick, new place, changing environment and faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away from home as her parents were posted in Florida...Since her name started with "R" so her roll call came late with all unknown faces and culture. Accounts and the Balance sheet giving all mismatched debits/credits!! They had to work in batches of two for assignments & her Roll call was 23.There was some problem in her assignment but she had a huge crush on the Accounts Professor, hehhee, so pointless to say that she did not want to make mistakes...Suddenly someone approached her and corrected her Balance sheet...It was late that evening and she had to go to the hostel as all her friends were waiting...After she winded up light went off in the room and it was dark in the corridors and all the guys started to scream and shout and she was little scared...Suddenly she heard the same person say, come lets go out and she said-‘ I am afraid of dark’. He said don’t worry, follow me and she slowly followed his footsteps...She never knew that this was the beginning of a new story -Story of a GAL & Boy....(Larry & Ray)....She then came to know this 6ft 2" guy was LARRY...He was sober and down to earth, quiet by nature....

On one hand where Ray was a chatterbox, very naughty, stubborn and sensitive Larry was quiet,      practical and a Man of Principles. People say opposite poles attract and so was nature trying to do-bringing Larry and Ray closer. It was 14^th April 2002, Larry’s birthday and Larry wanted Ray to join him.

There was chaos in the hostel as Ray had rejected Larry’s invitation of joining him on his birthday and after a lot of discussion she had to agree. People say ‘First Date’ is something one would never forget in life and so was 14^th April 2002 for her. Scared, suspicious to talk with loads of hesitation in mind, the evening started to take off but as night creeped in, Ray soon realized that she had got a great friend on whom she could rely on for life long.

The thin line between ‘Friendship & Love’ was soon crossed and in 2003, they realised it was time to be serious about a few things in life –the PRESENCE of the other person. It is said that you feel that you are in love with someone, when ‘YOU ARE SCARED OF LOOSING THE PERSON’. It human natures not to accept things at one go and so was with Larry & Ray. It always you’re surrounding which is sure when two people are in love except for the ‘TWO’.

Larry stayed in Montgomery, which was near to the college and used to frequently visit his hometown whilst Ray was used to hostel life. With time, maturity creeped in and it was time to struggle for SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST...With love in life, came hopes and with hope; dreams were woven and in the house of dreams lived the RIVAL of LIFE – DESTINY coz Masters were getting over and it was time to say goodbye with everything left on destiny.

It’s always said ‘Where there is a will there is a Way and as time passed destiny started playing games with Larry & Ray making them work in not only the same field but also location. It was ‘STABILITY’ which was the need of the hour and with friend’s and relatives poking here and then for Wedding Bells. One very important thing was that Larry & Ray came from different culture and moral values, so loads of uncertainty in what was stored for them in future. Larry & Ray knew that the storm can any time separate them and that was the time when Love was losing the battle and there was hue and cry. Larry thought it was time to move out, so he moved to London for better opportunity and forget Ray whilst Ray was still not able to figure out how life was treating her. After every storm there is still breeze, and friends its love and only love which keeps the hope alive. London was new for Larry but the feeling of carrying a Broken Heart was deep buried inside him. Soon Ray realised that God has his own signals to show a ray of light and she thought that perhaps we always fall in love the very first time we see the man of our dreams, even though, at the time, reason may be telling otherwise, and we may fight against that instinct, hoping against hope that we won't win, until there comes a point when we allow ourselves to be vanquished by our feelings and Ray decided to quit everything but to live for the ‘MAN OF HER LIFE –Larry’. When you want something the universe conspires to help you achieve it and Ray with every hope of life decided to live happily for love.

Friends, Leobond believes that all of us have Larry & Ray inside us, so listen to your heart as where the heart is, you will find your greatest pleasure.

So lets all of us together spread the message of this Divine & Sacred feeling of Love...
